We're a dynamic 18-piece swing orchestra made up of passionate local musicians dedicated to bringing the timeless sounds of the big band era to life. With a rich history and a roster of talented members, past and present, we've been swinging strong for years under the leadership of four inspiring presidents.
From unforgettable concerts and lively wedding receptions to energizing senior communities and making holidays extra special, we turn every event into a musical celebration. We've even had the honor of performing at the iconic Fabulous Fox Theatre. Wherever we play, we deliver an electrifying music experience that will have you dancing all night long!
On an October Sunday in 1960 three members of a
Peachtree Presbyterian Church Sunday school class formed the beginnings of the Atlanta Modernaires Big Band.
The band celebrated their 63rd Anniversary in October of 2023. We have members that have played with the Band for over 20 years, new faces, and many talented guest musicians along with our former members.
